I can’t drive… 55!!!

If you want to see all the great stuff along Route 66, you just can’t drive 55!  More often than not, you’ve got to sloooooowwwww down to a nice comfy 45 mph or so, sometimes slower.  Sure, you won’t cover as much distance, but you’ll catch cool things, like this abandoned shack in Bridgeport, Oklahoma, that you might not see if you’re zipping by any faster.  While I’ll drive a couple of miles per hour over the speed limit on the open road, I’m pretty much crawling when I get to towns (abandoned or inhabited) to make sure I take in all the eye candy.  I also stop a lot to walk around and explore, and to photograph the cool bits.  Try it sometimes where you live.  You might be surprised to see how much you’ve missed.

On top of this being a really cool shot the processing is outstanding. Way to go dude!

Howdy my friend! I wanted to let you know I have been really enjoying this series.

Safe travels!

Very strong story telling image with this one, Jacques. Beautiful processing and I love the “skylights”.

Sweet shot – really nice processing as usual. you’ve done an excellent job on separating the sky from the interior. Great work!

Thanks a heap gents! It’s easy to shoot good stuff when there’s so much of it around me along Route 66.
