I was unsure what to post today, on New Year’s Eve, since I had not shot any fireworks yet (not really into that kind of stuff), so I decided to post a photograph from a day-trip I took to Leipzig, Germany to scout out some potential URBEX locations. This building was on an old railroad track, right next to a really cool, old abandoned indoor railroad turntable I was unable to access. All I could do was peek through the dirty windows at the several old engines, all covered with dust, just begging for me to shoot them. I still hope to get back there one day to see if I can figure out who I need to schmooze to gain access for a bit!
Leipzig
Hello dear friends. It is with great pleasure that I post this first message here on “Exposed by the Light”. I have to thank my good buddy (and fellow HDR Photographer/Urban Explorer) Bob Lussier, without whom this site would not have been possible. Thank you, my friend! Why the switch to this new site? Well… it’s all about the size! My pictures need to be seen large, and my previous website did not let me present my work the way it was meant to be seen! That has been rectified! I believe that this breath of fresh air will also allow me to provide more, and better, content, so come back often, or think about signing up to the RSS feed so you won’t miss an update. Also, I warmly welcome any suggestions to improve the site.
Regarding the theme of the site, you will notice a sort of “Steam Punk” theme. What can I say, I’m a fan of the genre. So, it is only fitting that today’s piece of HDR goodness is… well… a steam engine! I shot this one in Leipzig, Germany on Track 24 of the Hauptbahnhof. If you ever get down that way, do take the time to check that train station out. It’s just beautiful!
