In my last post here on the blog, I mentioned a recent visit to Elle Fashion Week here in Bangkok. Â Admittedly, it was my first visit to fashion show, prompted my my daughter’s interest in the fashion industry. Â What a fantastic experience. Â All the beautiful people were there, in all their splendor, making for some great photographic opportunities. Â Take this stunning model, for example. Â I can’t imagine what it take to maintain the physiques “required” in the industry to walk the cat walk, oh yeah the catwalk… as they do their little turn on the catwalk (think Right Said Fred). Â Anyway, I digress. Â Let me let the photo to do the talking instead!

One thing I find I don’t do enough of is to photograph more people, though I think I’ll be doing a lot more and more of that as I settle in to life in Thailand. Â The streets are full of such great characters, that it would be an absolute shame not to attempt to capture at least some of it. Â Take this fellow, for example. Â Not a care in the world, it seems. Â I want to imagine that he sleeps and dreams well. Â I was not too keen on waking him to find out though.
I shot cool old chair during my recent second solo visit to the abandoned asylum in the woods, this time visiting several buildings as part of my continued mapping of the complex, as well as part of my continued breaking-in of my recently acquired Sony NEX 7. Â So far, this is probably my favorite of the shots I’ve post-processed at this location, though I have some other cool ones that might trump. Â BTW, I’m still hunting for an abandoned wheel chair as I have yet to shoot one during an URBEX!
It’s been a dog’s age since I had a good URBEX explore, but I finally got fairly good does recently.  I’d been hankering to visit this old abandoned asylum in the woods for a really long time, but had not taken the time to research specific location and infil/exfil routes.  Had a little time after work recently, so I whipped out the smartphone to do a quick recon (google maps and such), leaving me plenty of time for an initial patrol to see what was there.  I was NOT disappointed, even though I only explored the ground floor of the asylum’s main building (it has three levels, including the basement), and none of the several other buildings on the compound.  More to come from this rockin’ location, and I’m certain I’l be hitting this location a few times over the next few months.  BTW, next time you come down here +Bob Lussier we’ll hit this one!
