The Eighth Rule of Fight Club!

My God!  How long has it been since I’ve posted to my website?  I’ve lost track, quite frankly; suffice to say it feels like it’s been a dog’s age.  No worries; NotoriousBDP is back in black!  Lot’s has happened since the last post, and I won’t bore folks with details (it’s all good though).  So, rather than blah, blah, blah, how ’bout I leave you with this tasty bit of photography to bite into from my hangout at the Ratchadamnoen Muay Thai boxing stadium in Bangkok.  Let’s see if I can make this a regular thing (posting photos that is), huh?  Can you dig it?

Hunger

One thing I find I do not do enough is “street photography”.  That is, I don’t spend enough time carrying a camera around with me to document life going on around me wherever I happen to be at the moment.  I’ve decided, in the last week or so, to do just that.  More time exploring, and more time documenting some of what I see.  I’ve also decided to do that with one camera and one lens only, for the time being, in hopes that I will not allow myself to be distracted by my gear.  I also don’t shoot for black and white much, so I’ve been spending a few days trying to do more of that as well.  ll of that said, let’s see how things go.  Here is one I shot this morning while exploring some of the smaller “Sois” (small avenues/side streets) of downtown Bangkok.

Captivated

In my last post here on the blog, I mentioned a recent visit to Elle Fashion Week here in Bangkok.  Admittedly, it was my first visit to fashion show, prompted my my daughter’s interest in the fashion industry.  What a fantastic experience.  All the beautiful people were there, in all their splendor, making for some great photographic opportunities.  Take this stunning model, for example.  I can’t imagine what it take to maintain the physiques “required” in the industry to walk the cat walk, oh yeah the catwalk… as they do their little turn on the catwalk (think Right Said Fred).  Anyway, I digress.  Let me let the photo to do the talking instead!

Complete Peace

One thing I find I don’t do enough of is to photograph more people, though I think I’ll be doing a lot more and more of that as I settle in to life in Thailand.  The streets are full of such great characters, that it would be an absolute shame not to attempt to capture at least some of it.  Take this fellow, for example.  Not a care in the world, it seems.  I want to imagine that he sleeps and dreams well.  I was not too keen on waking him to find out though.
